1. Caring for Humanity Scholarship

Awards of $250-$1000
Deadline: March 22, 2018

Criteria:

  • The recipient should demonstrate a level of dedication to improving the lives of others through service to either their school or community.
  • The recipient should be able to maintain a cumulative B or 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale.
  • The recipient must be a member of the current graduating class, attending a Mercer County public or parochial school.
  • The recipient must be able to prove acceptance to an accredited college prior to receipt of the award.
  • The recipient’s School Counselor must be a member in good standing of Mercer County Professional Counselors Association.

Information to Submit to Selection Committee:

  • Counselor recommendation *
  • Service project recommendation from school or community service agency *
  • Official high school transcript
  • Essay

*All recommendations are mandatory, and their exclusion will disqualify applicants for this scholarship.

 

2. Meeting the Challenge Scholarship

Awards of $250-$1000
Deadline: March 22, 2018

Criteria:

  • The recipient must be a classified student with a learning disability, evaluated by the school’s child study team, or possess an official Section 504 Accommodation Plan.
  • The recipient should demonstrate a level of academic achievement, demonstrating that he/she has compensated for the disability and is prepared to enter college/trade school.
  • The recipient must be a member of the current graduating class, attending a Mercer County public or parochial school.
  • The recipient must be able to prove acceptance to an accredited college prior to receipt of the award.
  • The recipient’s School Counselor must be a member in good standing of Mercer County Professional Counselors Association.

  • Official high school transcript
  • Essay

3. Many Languages, One Ambition 
ESL Scholarship 

Awards of $250-$1000
Deadline: March 22, 2018

  • English is not the recipient’s primary language.
  • The recipient must demonstrate financial need.
  • Applicants not qualified for any other financial assistance will be given priority.
  • The recipient should be able to maintain a cumulative B or 3.0 average on a 4.0 scale.
  • The recipient must be a member of the current graduating class, attending a Mercer County public or parochial school.
  • The recipient must be able to prove acceptance to an accredited college prior to receipt of the award.
  • The recipient’s School Counselor must be a member in good standing of Mercer County Professional Counselors Association.
